Hello,
we are considering installing wood-look tiles in our house (which is quite modern and open). I think these tiles, when well made, look really nice. I am just a bit skeptical whether I will still like them in a few years. Does anyone know a good manufacturer of wood-look tiles?

Regarding the grout, I think I would have chosen a slightly darker/browner shade..These are the "Woodline Roble" tiles, size 15x90 cm (6x35 inches) from Princess Ceramic. The price was relatively affordable (compared to others), around 30 euros per square meter (about 2.80 USD per square foot). However, I’m not sure if Princess Ceramic might be a private label of the tile center.
PS: I just noticed in the picture above that the first tile might also be Princess Ceramic Woodline (I got the above info from a quote dated 04/2014). To avoid any mistakes, I’ll check the receipt again tonight (purchase was around 10/2014) – don’t want you to order the wrong tile.
As for the grout – well, we kneeled beside the installed tiles with the grout samples and placed them next to each other. In hindsight, a darker grout might have worked better. Why we chose this grout back then, I can’t recall. Maybe the sample was a bit darker than what was actually applied. Or perhaps because darker grout might make the living room feel darker too (though I don’t really think so). I simply don’t remember anymore. My wife is in charge of aesthetics – it’s not really my area. I only object if something really bothers me.
In general, we sampled different grout materials separately for each tile type. Always done either after laying the tiles or shortly before installation.

The tile is called Treline Brown from Penarroya-Marazzi. The tile costs 47.60 euros per square meter (including VAT).
Calculating the actual price wasn’t that easy. Our general contractor passed on the discount he received from Fliesen-Zentrum directly to us. But looking closely at the invoice, I could verify it (the discount was also noted there).
Funny, I took a closer look at the box as well, and ours are also the Treline Brown from Marazzi.
Now I can easily imagine it. You mentioned that in hindsight you would have preferred slightly darker grout? So a very light brown or more of a beige?
By the way, we paid €42.90 directly to our tiler for the tiles.
