Hello,

we have a new multi-family house with a heating system, air pump, solar thermal system, and water softener installed.

1- Should these systems be serviced regularly (annually)?
2- What would the approximate cost of such maintenance be?

What kind of monster is that 🤨? I need to check for ours right now. Didn’t I have 2kg (4.4 lbs) in mind...

I’m not sure if there is a difference between a brine heat pump and a direct expansion system.

Maintenance of the system by a professional company is definitely a good idea.
We pay a net amount of 200 per year with a maintenance contract. Of course, you can do everything yourself – but you can also leave it to the professionals. For our system, maintenance during the first 2 years was mandatory to extend the warranty to 5 years.
Maintenance also includes professional cleaning. Comparable to the dentist – some people have regular check-ups and cleanings, others don’t...

You have a direct expansion system? Yeah, a large one even – you need to do that then. I assumed you had a brine heat pump – sorry.

@Wastl: Also direct expansion or brine?

No, I have a standard air-to-water heat pump with integrated controlled ventilation and heat recovery.

OK, so this refers to the filter replacement of the mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery, cleaning of the intake, etc. – all tasks that are not required with a simple ground source heat pump.

I emphasize this only because different things are often mixed up here.
