Discussion about the right radiators, I need help
The information you provided is not sufficient.
Heating demand does not refer to how warm you want it to be, but rather to the amount of energy required to reach and maintain that temperature. This depends on insulation, room sizes, heat loss through windows, and so on. Without a professional, you won’t be able to make a proper assessment. Otherwise, you will either end up with an inefficient system or, in the worst case, fail to achieve the desired temperatures.

I feel like I’m hitting a brick wall.
Why did they only install heating on the ground floor back then?

Hello Claudia,
apart from the fact that the forum members who would like to help you do not know who is meant by
your statement
does not really help either.
You should gather the facts about the supply temperature and list them objectively if you expect informative responses from the user community.
that’s Yvonne’s advice

Also, the following sentence
sounds like you are renovating a house that you don’t legally own yet? 😱

I can’t say anything about the heating system. The house comes from a joint inheritance, and my uncle won’t hand over the documents before the notary appointment.

...as if you were renovating a house that doesn’t even legally belong to you yet? 😱That was the first thing I noticed too.
What will you do if your uncle and the group of heirs decide not to sell to you after all?
Otherwise, if you can actually access the house, you could at least check what kind of heating system is installed and, with that information, find a qualified heating contractor who can determine if additional radiators can be connected to the system, and if so, which ones.
I wouldn’t rely too much on what the mother or hardware store employees say—they don’t have to live in the house later and deal with any possible consequences...
Best regards,
Dirk

The house is owned 50% by my mother, and my uncle wants/has to sell it due to the ongoing costs.
