I plan to purchase and install LED spotlights myself in my prefabricated house. The lighting outlets will be prepared by the house manufacturer. Can anyone recommend LED spotlights with a good price-performance ratio and possibly a suitable online store? Preferably both dimmable and non-dimmable options. Are there general guidelines on how many LED spotlights should be planned for a certain living area?

toxicmolotof28 Apr 2015 15:18Are you referring to the light bulb, the socket, or the mounting frame?
I personally buy light bulbs from an online marketplace, shipped and packed from a Far Eastern trading city with delivery (shipping) times of around 2 weeks.
Since I don’t know how long they will last, I ordered 20 pieces as a backup. It was still significantly cheaper than any no-name manufacturer from Germany, not to mention brand-name producers.
They are available in 3–15 W, 30–120° beam angles, and various light spectra.
By the way, how many you need depends on the last three specifications and your personal preference.
Sockets are available made of ceramic for under 50 cents (per piece), and decent frames start at around 15 euros and up, with no upper limit.

Doc.Schnaggls28 Apr 2015 15:45Hello,
we installed Nobile LED downlights A 5068Q T Flat 8W with a 38° beam angle in our house.
In the kitchen area, for example (approximately 21 m² (225 sq ft)), we installed 10 of these spots. In terms of brightness, 6 would have been sufficient, but we wanted to avoid any shadow casting on the countertop caused by a person standing in front of it – so we added an additional row centered above the countertops.
Best regards,
Dirk

At least a 60° beam angle, preferably 80° or more... it really starts to get bright from around 9W, better at 12 or 15W.
