Hello,
as you can see from my sink question today, we have returned to the final bathroom planning stage.
For our bathtub, the recessed basin area is slightly angled relative to the wall—no need to picture it exactly—meaning it’s challenging to position a faucet on the wall so that water flows directly into the basin below without obstruction.
In our tub’s case, it would also be possible for water to come out on the side facing away from the wall through this rotary knob that is normally used to close the tub.
Actually, this would be an elegant solution for us, and I imagine the water inflow would be much quieter this way.
Is there any reason against this? Would it be unhygienic or should we worry more about the hose in the tub leaking?
Regards

Doc.Schnaggls16 Feb 2015 13:34@willWohnen: The flow rate is automatically regulated. If you’re interested, you can have a look at Hansgrohe Shower Select.
A built-in (concealed) fitting can be found starting from around 150.00 EUR – the price can vary widely depending on its functions and the material it needs to be made of.
Best regards,
Dirk

Ha – you have a shower panel.
Hmm – it looks familiar somehow.
For cost reasons, we decided against the push-button version (Hansgrohe). In our setup, the three settings are adjusted using an additional rotary lever.
However, we replaced the shower head of the handheld unit. With ours, you can switch between the “normal shower function” and the “waterfall” mode. So, in the end, there are actually four functions. Yes, exactly. That’s my “toy” in the house. I saw the Raindance at the sample center at Weberhaus and wanted it from that moment on.
We’re moving in on Saturday – I’m really looking forward to Saturday evening when I get to use it for the first time...
I don’t think that option would work for me. If I want to install a bathtub, I want foam. That would probably not happen if the water runs along the tub.

willWohnen16 Feb 2015 21:44That’s a good question, thanks @Masipulami. Is it really no longer possible to get foam? I would find that a bit disappointing as well.

willWohnen17 Feb 2015 00:37Haha, thanks @f-pNo. So it’s not a foam issue, that’s good. I’m not making fun of you, but I’m definitely adding the term “foam issue” to my permanent vocabulary.
I could also imagine that it depends on the type of bathtub. There have been reports about different inlet noises here as well. Well, you probably can’t test that in advance, so I’ll have to take the risk. Otherwise, I’ll get a battery-operated hand blender and foam up my bath myself.
