ᐅ What features did you include in your house, and what did you decide to leave out?

Hello,

When planning and building a house, you focus on the essentials and the budget. Some wishes get dropped along the way. But certain small luxuries or nice features are important to you, even if they are not strictly necessary, and you end up including them anyway.

For us, a heated conservatory was an unattainable dream. However, we treated ourselves to tiled, walk-in showers, even though they take up more space.

I would love to hear what you have given up and what you managed to include.

Best regards

Hello willwohnen,
we will have to see whether it is worth it. From what we saw, there is no groove that needs cleaning; everything is smooth and flat. And my husband, like me, agreed that it is not unnecessary.

Doesn’t water splash out from the top when flushing? There used to be a reason for having a raised rim. If not, that’s great—then we want one like that too. Cleaning is really quite annoying.

You don’t have a rim, just a small 10 cm (4 inch) area at the back where the water flows out.

I’m not so impressed... either it’s because of the missing rim, which usually catches a lot, or it has to do with the bowl itself (different angle): urine splashes back up, causing a lot to stick to the underside of the toilet seat. Over time, that causes discoloration.

That doesn’t sound pleasant at all. But cleaning it, even with gloves and along the gutter ... better to get new glasses more often.

@ypg May I ask which model you chose? We have also decided on the rimless version. There is still time to change the order. Best regards, Fanta

I almost couldn’t find it because we have the Renova No. 1 PLAN series, but the toilet is
Renova No. 1 rimless close-coupled toilet, 4.5/6 liters (1.2/1.6 gallons), wall-hung, 540 mm (21 inches) projection 203050 – from Keramag
so without PLAN.

The yellow urine ring, oops: it forms on the inner underside of the plastic seat, that 5 mm (0.2 inch) rim.
But you can clean it off again with Viss scouring milk.
The unpleasant thing is: since you don’t look under the seat after every little use, it can stain and of course that’s uncomfortable when unexpected guests drop by. Although I assume no one pees standing up here anymore, you never know what guests might be looking at.
Oh, and you no longer have the option to hang those flushing components inside.

Yeah, we treated ourselves to that.

But otherwise, it’s quite a nice thing, at least nothing else can hang onto any rim – you know what I mean.
