Hello,
I just viewed a house (built in 1955) that appears to be very well maintained.
The owners have passed away, and the children are now selling the house. The basement is dry, there is a gas heating system from 2010, and the facade is insulated with 6 cm (2.4 inches) of insulation...
What puzzles me, however, is the following:
The attic is not finished, but the roof is insulated between the rafters and a vapor barrier is installed. The attic floor is not insulated. Does this even make sense?
Is it possible to tell whether the finished loft space below, with two dormers, is insulated or not? If it really is uninsulated, what is the point of insulating the roof between the rafters but not insulating the rest?
Thank you very much.

Is there a way to tell if the finished loft below, which has two dormer windows, is insulated or not? If it really isn’t insulated, what is the point of insulating the attic along the rafters but not the rest?
