Hello,
I hope this forum is not only for people looking to build a house but also for experienced builders.
My wife and I want to build and have been searching for a developer for almost a year now, but somehow we are not making any progress.
That is why we are hoping to benefit from your experiences.
Could you perhaps share recommendations or your experiences regarding which companies we should build with or which companies you would advise us to avoid?

But this isn’t about me. You need to figure out what you like and what you don’t, and then choose the appropriate construction company accordingly.

There are certainly many companies operating nationwide, which is why I asked here about experiences, both good and bad, with different "companies".Feel free to ask, but a more specific question would be more effective, and searching in regional forums is very useful! Also, searching house-building blogs is worth mentioning – it would help forum participants to know what and where you have already searched!

reading this: Moved in January 2014 and still not finished,
I’m glad it’s only starting slowly here in this thread ;o)Well, then you can quickly make a rough calculation for yourselves: WE signed our building contract 3 months after deciding whether or not to build a house (2013), had our house built turnkey (2013), and after a water damage (2014) we still don’t have the opportunity to lay the floor covering in the last room. This summer we made the garden and outdoor areas enjoyable. As part of our own work, we completed all the painting during vacation (2013), from which we still haven’t recovered (2014). No electrical work or anything like that... only painting—and I am fast, skilled, and experienced... but my job comes first! ...
Oh, when it comes to personal labor, I might have a slight advantage.
I’m building the double garage with two colleagues by ourselves.... For the electrical work, a few coworkers are helping me, so the single-family house will be finished over the weekend.
Well, now all that’s left is the house itself (
Alright then, I’ll get back online and continue searching.

toxicmolotof28 Sep 2014 10:16If you think you can manage that in a single weekend, go ahead. One more weekend for painting and tiling, and another for the heating system.
Then you’ll finish quickly, but I already predict a significant underestimation of effort—or if you really can do everything, at least a major underestimation of time and costs due to juggling multiple tasks.
And building a garage isn’t something you can just do quickly either.
Good luck.
