Hello,
I hope this forum is not only for people looking to build a house but also for experienced builders.
My wife and I want to build and have been searching for a developer for almost a year now, but somehow we are not making any progress.
That is why we are hoping to benefit from your experiences.
Could you perhaps share recommendations or your experiences regarding which companies we should build with or which companies you would advise us to avoid?

Definitely consult a structural engineer to see if this is feasible without problems. Depending on where the toilet will be located, make sure to consider the drainage system. You don’t want the waste pipes running straight through the living room.
I only know that this weekend we will be installing conduit pipes into a prepared rough ceiling. There are two of us, and we might need an extra two days.

The thread is starting off slowly; you have to ask the original poster a lot of questions before the purpose and meaning of their question become clear. Asking for a "house" in a house building forum leads nowhere! Yes, it is a house building forum. Still, asking for a developer/building company/general contractor amounts to the same thing.
Developers/general contractors/turnkey contractors/builders are often locally based – the reasons for choosing one or the other usually come down to gut feeling, word of mouth, regional considerations, or specific contract terms.
We have no idea what is important here: does the company need to be affordable, locally based, or offer a specific design?
The statement that the land plot is already available but needs to be included in the financing is also confusing.
Reaching out and comparing options cannot be done by a forum... especially not when you have to extract information from the person yourself. Many important details have not yet been shared – and it is very tiring for a forum to keep asking more questions.

Well, it doesn’t matter now, we’re no longer building with that “company.”

From my experience, it goes quite quickly. Lay it down, connect it, and that’s it.

BUs/GUs/GÜs/BT are indeed often regionally represented – reasons for choosing one or another are usually based on a good gut feeling, word of mouth, regional decisions, or specific contractual terms. There are certainly enough companies that operate nationwide, which is why I asked here about which "firms" people have had good or bad experiences with.
