Hello,
I need an entrance height of 2.35–2.40 m (7 ft 9 in–7 ft 10 in) for my garage under construction because of my van with a roof tent. Is it possible to achieve this with a total building height of 3 m (9 ft 10 in)?
Thanks for your feedback.

Some information is missing.

Total building height is 3m (9.8 ft). How high is your roof? What type of roof is it?

You have 60cm (24 inches) of space, which should be enough:

For example, lintel 12cm (5 inches) + ring beam 20cm (8 inches) equals 32cm (13 inches), leaving you 28cm (11 inches) for your roof...

That depends on the desired gate.

Thanks for the reply. It will be a flat roof. I’m still at the very beginning and just wanted to gather some information first. Thanks again for the response.

The key parameters are:
How much width will be spanned above the garage door? – This determines the size of the lintel that will support the roof and thus the maximum clearance height.
Which door do you plan to use? An upward-opening door reduces the available height further.
Garage width, upward-opening door – this could become tight.

My sectional overhead door with a motorized drive requires 16cm (6.3 inches). Without the drive, it can work with less than 10cm (4 inches).
