ᐅ Has this hardwood floor been professionally installed?

Hello,

Some time ago, I hired a professional flooring company to fully glue down engineered wide plank flooring over an area of 90m² (970 sq ft). After a short time, I noticed that the flooring was uneven and the baseboards were installed very poorly. One uneven spot was repaired since it was outside the usual tolerance. The baseboards were also replaced.

For the job, I paid approximately €7,500 and an additional €500 for the baseboards. I paid around €7,000 for the wide plank flooring itself. Altogether, I am at about €15,000.

What bothers me about the whole matter is that I expected a neat and clean job, but there are several unsightly spots. Even after the uneven area was repaired and the baseboards replaced, I keep finding new imperfections. Almost all rooms have unevenness, though still within acceptable tolerance.

What do you think about the quality of the work?
What do you think about the door frames? Are they acceptable as they are?
How would you recommend I proceed (warranty period), or do you consider the result to be okay?

Thank you very much for answering my questions.

The invoice is attached.

What is unfortunate about this is that a product, which was paid for at a high price and is supposed to last for many years, was handled so carelessly. Some lines were drawn with a ballpoint pen instead of a pencil.

some time ago,

That was in 2021, so about 3 1/2 years ago.

I would have already handled the trims myself (with acrylic), especially around the door frames, to make it look nice.
You can probably also hide that line very well with filler before I end up annoyed about it for more years.

Hello ypg,
thank you for your post.
Yes, that was at the end of 2021.
I believe there is a warranty period of five years?
I am now trying to make the best of it so that it hopefully still looks acceptable.
It would be great if the company acknowledges that the result is not acceptable and requires correction.

The problem is that there were already many complaints before, and I don’t know where to start or where to stop.
When the acrylic/silicone turned yellowish, it became even more noticeable.

Could one of you please inform @KlaRa?

That’s the only way to do it.

I mean, there is a warranty period of five years, right?

Houses have a warranty period of five years according to the building code. Custom craftsmanship work has a warranty of two years.
What regulations does the established company follow? The building code or the VOB (construction contract procedures)?

The house is not a new build.
I hope the deadline has not passed.

There is a 5-year warranty on houses according to the building code. A commissioned trade work has a 2-year warranty.
This concerns construction work, not just a simple trade job. Therefore, I also consider the 5-year period applicable.
