Can anyone share recent experiences with Bonum Haus? We are looking for a house project in the Nuremberg area. There have been almost no reports in recent years, which seems strange.

From what I understand, Bonum Haus acts as an intermediary and receives a commission for contracts. You sign separate contracts with each craftsman, so there are a lot of signatures involved.

Is Bonum Haus completely out of the picture after the mediation? Once the deal is done, is that it? Is there no quality control for the services sold? I find this concerning overall because it leaves all control to the inexperienced customer. There is usually strong cost pressure on construction sites—can this work well without oversight? What are your thoughts on building intermediaries like Bonum Haus?

There are hardly any reports from the past few years, which seems odd.

Is there no supervision of the work delivered? I find that concerning overall because that would leave all control to inexperienced customers. In construction, there is significant price pressure, so can it work well without oversight? What do you think about building intermediaries like Bonum Haus?

Has anyone ever built with Bonum?

Hi,

Two years ago, we built in the Nürnberger Land area with Bonum. Yes, Bonum only connects you with local contractors. However, construction management and supervision are included. I recommend hiring an independent expert for the final inspection and, if applicable, a report for the basement concrete. That was the biggest issue for us. Otherwise, after handover, you are on your own for any complaints.

Thank you for sharing your experience.

I’m still not quite clear about the construction management. Does the management coordinate and supervise? Then why hire an independent expert? Shouldn’t the quality be checked by the construction management?

What kind of defects did you have?

I don’t fully understand the role of the construction management yet. Do they coordinate and supervise?
Who pays for the construction management? Exactly. Of course, the construction company. So, whose interests are being represented? At least not yours in the first place. Always have your own independent expert present, paid by you and working for you.

I have to correct you there. With Bonum Haus, the client signs a contract directly with the site management.
