I recently came across an interesting offer that Tchibo is promoting for nature lovers or people looking to take a break from city life: a turnkey weekend house for 50,000 euros. These small houses, offered in cooperation with a partner company, are said to be an affordable option for anyone seeking a retreat in the countryside. However, there are many factors to consider, such as the size of the property, infrastructure connections, and possible additional costs for the plot or other expenses. For this reason, I wonder whether this offer is actually a worthwhile investment. Has anyone here had experience with similar projects or thoughts on this?

Would such a house be worth it for you, and which aspects would be most important in your decision?

I would like to add:
- connection to water, sewage, electricity, etc.
- no heating system included in the house
- roof load capacity insufficient for photovoltaic panels
- delivery without pre-installed electrical and plumbing systems

For me, three factors would be decisive:
1. The value such a house would have for my life and that of my loved ones.
2. The location of the building plot and the opportunities available there.
3. Whether I have the disposable money for it.

About 10 years ago, we considered buying a chalet but ended up purchasing a camper van instead.
If you ask whether the investment is worthwhile, it’s less about the cabin and associated costs, and more about the location.

For permanent living, they can be used with a proper foundation and heating/water connection, provided the land allows it. (I am deliberately leaving out the topic of primary residence, as it is not relevant here.)

I just took a look at the floor plans. According to the brochure, the bathroom is only accessible through the terrace. If this is the level of planning, then the construction phase will certainly be interesting.
