Hello everyone,
we received a quote today for our photovoltaic system.
Components:
Inverter — Sun2000 with 10 kW from Huawei
Battery storage — Luna2000 with 5 kWh from Huawei
Modules — 24x Luxor Fullblack double-glass panels with 425 Wp
The total price including installation and setup is 15,500 euros.
This is for a location near Karlsruhe.
The scaffolding is already in place at the house, so it does not need to be provided.
Is this price reasonable? Especially considering the components.
I have very little knowledge about photovoltaics.
Best regards, Kugelblitz

So, hold off on buying storage for now. Maybe one day we’ll be able to store all generated energy privately. If you follow this approach, you won’t get anywhere. Also, the process is not happening disruptively right now, so waiting isn’t worthwhile. However, I would recommend investing in storage today that can also be charged from the grid when electricity prices are low. This, though, is not a question of the battery storage technology itself.

I’m no expert, but from what I’ve read, the battery in the car is probably coming. That would be great for us with electric vehicles. This is broadly under preparation but only insufficiently replaces the purpose of a home battery. The sizing ratios might change. The biggest advantage is the potential relief of the power grid and, with appropriate pricing on the electricity market, also a cost benefit for the user (see above).

But that’s not really a question of the specific battery technology. There are things where you don’t need to be first, and storage is definitely one of them. Just because it’s currently cheap with providers like Tibber and others doesn’t mean it will stay that way—especially once the majority start using it.W

Being first isn’t appealing to everyone. I’m less hesitant about it. If you let go of the idea that neither option is a “mistake,” you can approach it quite casually. Tibber doesn’t appeal to me yet; I was thinking more about the Danish Xolta solutions, which are currently focused on commercial, industrial, and agricultural sectors.Similar topics
