HilfeHilfe14 Aug 2014 11:52Hello,
After moving in and installing all electrical and furniture fixtures (lamps, etc.), we noticed some spots.
Our painter "touched up" these areas. He used the same white paint, but now you can still see the repaired spots when the light hits them, even though he dabbed the paint on. According to him, he used the exact same white paint.
Is it possible that after about 8 weeks the same white paint looks different? Could these spots possibly fade or blend in over time?
The paint is on textured wallpaper (woodchip).
Thank you

nordanney14 Aug 2014 12:01We have the same “problem.”
Despite using very expensive paint (Caparol Indeko Plus), white is not always the same white. Maybe it’s because of different thicknesses due to multiple coats? We haven’t found a solution, and repainting the entire wall each time is not an option.
P.S. After 2 1/2 months, there is still no visible improvement.

Bauexperte14 Aug 2014 12:59Hello,
The only tip for future painting work: always ask the painter to provide a small jar of the leftover paint. This way, any touch-ups will match the rest of the paint and won’t stand out.

HilfeHilfe schrieb:Yes, unfortunately that does happen, and no, those areas do not fade.

Doc.Schnaggls15 Aug 2014 13:01That's right. We already had this problem in our apartment as well. Since then, we always pour ourselves a small glass of the paint used for repairs, because different batches can visibly vary from each other.
Of course, this only works as long as the stored paint hasn’t dried out...
