Hello forum community,

Yesterday, my wife cleaned the tiles in the hallway. The tiles are separated from the living room parquet flooring by a strip. Some water with cleaning detergent must have gotten onto the parquet. It looks like this now.

Is there any way to fix this?
Wood parquet floor with a dark stain at the edge, transitioning to brown terracotta tiles.

What do you use to clean your tiles? Hydrocyanic acid?

The tiles were cleaned with baking soda and an all-purpose cleaner.

Why use baking soda? The whole point of the all-purpose cleaner is that it is neutral. Baking soda makes it alkaline. Why this mixture?

With mildly alkaline cleaning agents on wood, it depends on the surface treatment. If the parquet is oiled and not sealed with varnish, it requires fat-restoring soaps. Your approach does not provide that.

If in doubt, sand down and re-oil.

There are cleaning products that remove water stains from wood. The black discoloration is caused by the oxidation of metal traces in the wood. It will disappear over time. Afterwards, re-oil the area if the parquet flooring is oiled.

Let a professional handle it. The risk of making it worse is high.
