Hello everyone,

Today I installed a door frame from Kilsgaard (type 3) and inserted the hinges. I then noticed that there is no lateral hole in the hinges to tighten them with an Allen key. This means the hinges are only inserted and not fastened.
I also checked your second, identical frame, and it also has no hole for securing the hinges.
Now I wonder if the inserted hinges can hold permanently without being fixed.
In the photo (which is unfortunately not very sharp), you can see in the red marked circle the spot where there is usually a hole for securing the hinges. However, this is missing on this frame.

Since this is the first door I have installed, I wonder if I might have overlooked something or if the hinges really do not get fixed any further.

Thank you very much.

It’s the same for us. Different manufacturer, installed in 2016. Has been working perfectly since then.

Are the hinges on your side able to be pushed out again with moderate force? For me, the top one holds firmly, but the bottom one can be pushed in with a light tap or pried out with a screwdriver without much effort. That doesn't exactly inspire the highest level of confidence 😉.

There is a seal or gasket. Possibly behind it?

Is there no instruction manual?

There is an instruction manual that also mentions securing it firmly with screws, but it covers many different versions at once and therefore did not fit another point.

However, I couldn’t find any hole inside the frame either, so there shouldn’t be a hole behind the seal. I can take a picture of the inside of the frame on Friday, as I will be on site again and have an identical frame available.

This is how it looks for me. Perhaps the hole in your case is smaller and completely behind the seal.
