ᐅ Is decentralized ventilation with a cross-counterflow heat exchanger still a current solution?

TorstenKandt11 Mar 2024 11:21Hello forum,
I want to install a decentralized ventilation system in my older apartment (built in the 1960s, 3 rooms, 70m² (750 sq ft)). Since I am sensitive to clicking noises, I am hesitant to choose a pendulum fan. From my online research, cross-counterflow heat exchangers seem to be the ideal solution (though they are a bit more expensive, which is not a problem for me). Unfortunately, I simply cannot find any current models. The only decentralized ventilation system with a cross-counterflow heat exchanger I can find is the Vitovent 200-D. However, it appears to have been on the market for a very long time, and there are very mixed reviews online.
Can you recommend any more recent models?
Good luck

TorstenKandt11 Mar 2024 17:54Thank you. The Zehnder Comfo Air 70 looks especially interesting. Although it has already been on the market for 6 years. I’m surprised that there aren’t more new models available.

It’s such a simple technology that there’s no real reason for changes—except maybe in terms of Wi-Fi integration, humidity control, or similar features. But no changes to the ventilation technology itself.
It’s like repainting a red Golf every two years, installing a new radio, and then selling it as a completely new car.
