Hello.

We bought a pleated blind to be installed in the glazing bead. We are supposed to pre-drill the holes with a 2mm (0.08 inch) drill bit. What type of drill bit is best to use for the glazing bead? We have new uPVC windows and glazing bead.

Should we use a masonry drill bit or a wood drill bit?

Wood drill bit, but use a drilling guide; otherwise, the drill bit will always slip out.
As a temporary solution, crossing adhesive tape also works.

What do you mean by drilling template?
What am I supposed to do with the adhesive tape?
Do you mean marking how deep I need to drill?

Not necessary. Wood drill bits have the appropriate tip, and the plastic is very soft. It won’t slip out.

I thought it was about glass glass and not plastic glass.
Ashes on my head, <eye roll>

Is gluing not an option? For us, it has even held up really well with the heavy blackout pleated blinds on the floor-to-ceiling windows for almost a year... I would never drill into my beautiful new RC2 windows for anything in the world. And if some glue comes off, you just clean off the residue and re-glue.
