We are getting a living basement with underfloor heating in two rooms beneath our prefabricated house (9m x 11m) - the cost for this fun is around EUR 48,000 (without excavation).

Well, how can you really generalize that?
It depends on many factors:
- where the building is located
- the size of the building
- whether the basement is just for storage or partially used as living space (office, guest room)
- is a so-called white tank waterproofing system necessary?
- prefabricated basement, traditional masonry, or cast in place concrete?
I would say our basement in our current prefabricated house cost about 70,000 to 80,000 euros (around 70,000 to 80,000 dollars) fully finished (with tiles, wallpaper, stairs, etc.) nearly six years ago. We have the white tank system (concrete walls cast on site), proper windows (not just small basement windows), additional insulation on the outside with a bitumen layer on top, two rooms with underfloor heating, and so on.

This also depends heavily on the "strategy" of the prefab house manufacturer, since the cost of the foundation slab must be taken into account. With Schwörerhaus, you pay "only" an additional 5,000 to 10,000 euros for a basic usable basement with a house size of 9 x 11 m (29.5 x 36 ft). Naturally, this excludes excavation, soil removal, and similar work.
