Hello everyone,

I want to extend my existing Besta into a display cabinet and use the built-in LED spotlights for lighting, ideally recessed. It is recommended to use a hole saw for this. Do you think it’s a good idea to drill two 76mm (3 inch) holes in the top panel of those particleboard pieces, or should I rather follow the instructions and install the lights surface-mounted?

Looking forward to your feedback.

Funny… very old Besta furniture… light gray wall, and I’m thinking about painting the cabinets gray/taupe…

The fronts are actually a pale gray-green (Hjortviken). They were recently changed from light gray. A really great color.

I have some accessories in that nice color, so for me that would be too much. I just can’t look at the dark ones anymore… but the view of the almost identical arrangement is quite funny :p

In most cases, the recessed lights come with a trim frame. It looks very nice.
