ᐅ Ideas for Building an Extension Above the Garage to Create Additional Living Space

Hello,
we need additional living space in our 2020 new build.
For that, we wanted to add a room above the garage.
After opening it up, it looks quite ugly.
Does anyone have any ideas?

If possible, I would place it fully on top of the garage – on one hand, for a more visually uniform appearance, and on the other hand, probably less critical from a structural perspective...

I would definitely avoid adding a flat-roofed extension and instead recommend building a pitched roof on the extension.

Is this a boundary garage? If so, the suggestion from post #2 won’t work.

Please share the floor plans and a street view.

I am imagining a shed roof 1 meter (3 feet) higher than the house, following the same roof pitch.
