Hello
We are not quite sure what settings we need to adjust on the heat pump when we also have a fire burning in the fireplace.
We have the airflow set to 2, stove mode activated, and the heating is on.
Is this correct?

Sure, it depends on the questions. But you understood what the problem with your question is.
Regardless of a heat pump, nothing needs to be done. It wouldn’t be any different with gas or oil heating. Normal heating systems don’t have a specific “oven mode” either.
Do you perhaps have an air-to-air heat pump? Or is a ventilation system integrated? Or does the stove have a water jacket? I apologize for the way I phrased the question.
We have a Proxon domestic hot water heat pump 270.
All I know is that it draws air from outside and distributes it inside the house. Every exhaust vent also has heating elements that warm the air. I’m not sure whether the unit itself heats or cools the air.
The package came with the stove, and someone here told us that the OVEN MODE must be activated when the fire is burning.
We have:
- MANUAL MODE
- AUTOMATIC WINTER MODE
- AUTOMATIC SUMMER MODE
- OVEN MODE
In addition, we have 3 levels of “airflow power.”

PROXON potable water heat pump - domestic hot water heat pump 270This is a potable water heat pump. It does not provide heating; it only heats water. This is not a (!!!) heating system. You have a separate unit for that.X

Can’t you help Gurke?

We also have 3 levels of “airflow power.”I assume you don’t just have the Proxon domestic hot water heat pump, but also a combined air-to-air heat pump, meaning a central ventilation system with heat recovery and an integrated heat pump. In every living room, there is one (or more) supply air duct(s) (with heating elements for extreme conditions), and the “smelly rooms” have exhaust vents. This is very probably similar to our system.
A wood stove in a room of a new building produces significantly more heat than needed. Therefore, the ventilation system has a stove mode. As I understand it, this simply sets the ventilation speed to maximum, which helps distribute the heat more effectively throughout the house and ultimately reduces the load on the heating system. You should use this mode when the stove is on. However, it is not mandatory, and you won’t cause any damage if you don’t use it.
Best regards
