We are looking for a fly screen / insect screen for our patio door and windows that can also be opened and slid to the side (pleated or roller type). It is important that the screen is scratch-resistant from cats.
So far, I have not been able to find anything like this.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Thank you in advance

Those little climbers can get through those, they can even open doors, they will definitely figure out quickly how to open them. So you want fly screens that cats seriously respect as a no-entry sign? - *ROTFL*, keep dreaming!

I would simply suggest contacting a specialist company, as they have the expertise. We had a two-part swinging door installed. The upper part has standard mesh, and the lower part has a thick, "cat-proof" (and child-proof) mesh.

two-part swing door PS: I just noticed that was worded unclearly. The door is, of course, one-piece. Only the fabric is two-part.
So maybe it’s not that interesting after all 😉
You can really see how different cats can be.
My neighbors have a regular but good sliding panel as a fly screen despite having a cat.
The neighbor’s cat doesn’t go near it…
… maybe because she doesn’t want to go outside?! I mean the neighbor’s cat 😉
I’ll skip the usual questions about whether they are allowed outside, have enough scratching posts where they can play, and so on.
But if it’s an outdoor cat—or multiple cats—you would probably have to set times when they can go out and come back in (without protection). If that’s not possible, then choose a different door or window for ventilation.
Some things just don’t work together… we have been in our own homes for about 25 years now without insect screens on the ground floor.
My parents can’t do without them because they have such a system installed.

I don’t know any cat owner who would give up a standard fly screen because of their cats.

Exactly. We already have normal insect screens, and the cats just scratch them to pieces.

Our tomcats aren’t allowed outside, so that makes it even more difficult 🙄
