ᐅ Dishwasher door broken off: Is it possible to screw it back on?

Hello,

With apparently a bit too much force, our dishwasher door unfortunately slammed into a trash bin when opened. As a result, the four screws that were drilled from the inside of the dishwasher into the panel/dishwasher door at four points broke out. The former screw holes on the inside of the dishwasher door are, of course, no longer usable due to the damage.

But now I wonder: Is it possible to repair this somehow? Is there perhaps a material (as a layperson, I’m thinking of something like silicone) that can be filled into such (former screw) holes, so the door can be reattached to the dishwasher with four screws? Or is there no solution for this anymore?

Put a pot on it when the door is down...

Thanks again.

What annoys me quite a bit: I recently looked up the installation manual for the SMV46KX03E/28 online (see attachment). It is clearly shown under number 15 that 6 screws (the top ones are missing in my case) and additionally two front mounting hooks at the very bottom should have been installed (see green arrows). So it’s no surprise to me that something broke off.

The problematic part is that it seems the user manual functioned as a kind of template for all the drill holes on the furniture front. You have to place it flat on the inside of the furniture front and then mark the later drill holes through the pre-punched holes in the manual. But without the user manual, it’s quite difficult later on to locate the correct holes, especially for the mounting hooks at the bottom.

I just installed a front panel following pretty much the same instructions 😀
Using the hooks at the bottom is a lot more fiddly... were the two adhesive strips used? They also take some of the tension off the screws.
But without them, it’s definitely faster...

I’d say it was rather poorly done...

How long ago was this kitchen installed? If it’s been less than 6 months, it might be a good idea to contact the kitchen showroom.

No adhesive tapes were used either. The installation (completely new kitchen) was done 1.5 years ago. Without these hooks, it’s quite difficult to screw the screws back in precisely on the spot without extra effort.

Shouldn’t that still be under warranty? I would suggest calling the kitchen studio if it was professionally installed.
