Hello everyone, we are planning a new build with a prefabricated house supplier in NRW. We definitely want to install an ice storage heating system. The house will be designed in a very modern style (Bauhaus style). Which suppliers currently support this?

I strongly advise against using this for single-family homes unless you have substantial liquidity and benchmarking is important to you. It definitely won’t pay off financially—I’m quite certain of that. Companies that can execute this properly are extremely rare.

Here is a recent photo from my home office, with the interior on the left and the exterior on the right.
Self-sufficiency is constantly at 100%.
Yes, exactly, it’s that system people say doesn’t work and wouldn’t even want if it were free—the cooling through the heat pump. It works perfectly, and I’m currently working from home because the temperatures there allow me to think clearly.

How large should the house be? The Bauhaus style only really works starting from a certain size. And a cubist design alone is not Bauhaus style…
We also calculated a seasonal thermal energy storage system. It didn’t have enough capacity to heat the pool. With the additional costs, we could have heated the house for the next 30 years.

Yes, exactly, it’s this system that supposedly doesn’t work and that no one even wants for free, namely simply cooling via the heat pump. It works perfectly, and I’m currently working only from home because that’s where I have temperatures that allow me to think clearly.I can confirm that passive cooling through my ground source heat pump definitely helps achieve more comfortable indoor temperatures (combined with summer thermal protection integrated into the wall and roof construction as well as external venetian blinds). However, of course, there is a limit to its effectiveness during very long heat waves.A

However, at some point, this method ceases to be as effective during very long heatwaves. How have you addressed the issue of condensation, which is quite relevant with this type of cooling?
