Hello everyone,

Things are moving quickly now and my carpenter finally installed my living room wall unit this week.
Since I will be storing everything that tends to be scattered around the house here (I don’t have any dressers or sideboards),
I need storage boxes for small items (and we all know there are plenty of those).

My cabinet compartments measure 46 x 46 cm (18 x 18 inches), and of course, I want to make the most of the space.
The compartments are also 45 cm (18 inches) high, but since they have adjustable shelves, that is less important (plus I’d prefer to stack two boxes on top of each other).

I have already checked out hardware stores, online shops, and discount stores, and my best find so far is a box with 39 x 39 x 26 cm (15 x 15 x 10 inches) including a lid for 5.49€.
That’s okay, but maybe there’s something better (especially since it’s one of those tapered boxes that narrow towards the bottom).
And this is where I need your help—have you seen anything like this somewhere? I know it’s tough, and the usual suspects (like Ikea) don’t have anything.
Apparently, there are sizes that go up to 40 cm (16 inches) and then only start again above 50 cm (20 inches).

I’d appreciate it if you could help. I need about 10 to 15 pieces.

Best regards,
Flo

So the living wall has 100% doors, so the lower-quality plastic boxes wouldn’t be visible at first.
But yes, with a custom production, you could still reconsider now.
It’s crazy that there are such "massive" boxes available for that price on Etsy. However, they would be too "bulky" for me.

Yeah, I also find the price reasonable. I will probably order a few for the kids’ room to use as a display for the Tut-Tut cars.

I just thought of something – there are these "Easy Sticks," small wooden blocks. You can glue them together yourself to make boxes of any size. With a small saw, your imagination is the only limit.

I furnished my apartment with banana boxes. You can cut them down to the right size using a kitchen knife and then tape them together. If you want to make them look nicer, you can simply paint or cover them with fabric.
