Hello everyone,
Following advice from our architect, we have started considering our kitchen layout, since we still have the option to move walls, windows, or doors if it helps optimize the kitchen.
Attached is a first draft of the kitchen plan, which I have roughly sketched. You will also find pictures showing the approximate style and cabinet fronts we are aiming for. According to the seller, the price will be around €13,500. Some additional information is included in the image. If you need any more details, please feel free to ask.
What do you think about the Nolte Manhattan kitchen in general? How do you find the overall layout? Does the offer seem reasonable to you? Do you have any suggestions for improvements?
Thank you very much and best regards

I think the pictures are misleading; those are shadows.I believe the recessed handles are (aluminum) gray, but the baseboard is probably the same color as the fronts. The kitchen island seems quite wide at 2.07m (6 feet 9 inches). This means you only have just under 1m (3 feet 3 inches) of clearance between the island and the cooking area.
13500 seems quite affordable for Nolte and this kitchen size. It probably also depends on the appliances, as someone already mentioned, but I would expect the final bill to show a different price. Unless you are very strict and don’t add anything extra.
Otherwise, I find 1.20m (4 feet) between the island and the counter line definitely sufficient. And a 2m (6.5 feet) wide peninsula is really appealing. We had that in our old house and really enjoyed the space—for example, for putting away groceries and so on. It’s great to have such a large and deep surface area in the kitchen.

The price doesn’t sound particularly bad, actually rather affordable, but of course it depends heavily on the electrical appliances. Consider again whether the corner carousel really makes sense—I believe that in most cases it doesn’t.
However, I can also well imagine a two-row layout with tall cabinets (and possibly a niche for a coffee machine, etc., or depending on the width, maybe even a sink) on the right side and then an island in front, so from top to bottom. Just a suggestion, although depending on the door on the left side, space might be tight.

What are sliding cabinets and what are flap cabinets? Do you mean drawers and (regular) cabinets?
What does "partly" mean here?
It’s not mine with the attached island, but that doesn’t matter.
Not much can be seen! It is clear that there is no space for the side-by-side refrigerator because the right side of the layout is longer.
It’s unknown where the stove or any other appliances will go.
The widths of the drawers or how they are arranged together with the cabinets are also unknown.
But that’s what really matters. Also, the interior fittings make up a large part of the price. I assume that many cabinets have no interior fittings except for the explicitly mentioned lazy Susan?
If nothing is included inside, it’s probably a standard price.
I would suggest drawing the individual cabinets on a kitchen grid (larger scale, with squares for 10 or 20cm (4 or 8 inches)) and clarifying the intended use of each cabinet and drawer.

A quote like that is not really an offer, it’s just a price. To properly evaluate an offer, the appliances need to be listed with specific model numbers and their prices. Personally, I have never received an offer where prices were itemized. So €13,500 (about $14,700) could be a great deal, but it might also be expensive for you. Almost everything depends on the electrical appliances.Hello Yaso, I don’t know where to get a detailed offer where you can really check what is being installed and what it costs. We don’t know.
We only know that these are Siemens appliances: an induction cooktop with downdraft ventilation; a max. large fridge with a freezer compartment at the bottom; and an oven with a self-cleaning function. Is that enough to form an opinion?

It really depends on the appliances, of course. Think again whether the corner carousel cabinet really makes sense; in most cases, I don’t think it does.As mentioned above, we unfortunately have no more details about the appliances... What would you suggest instead of the corner carousel? We actually found it quite practical.

Just as a suggestion, but depending on the door on the left side, it could get a bit tight. We thought about that when looking at kitchens too. We feel it seems a bit cramped with long, fairly narrow walkways on both sides of the island. Don’t you think so? The door could be fitted appropriately.Similar topics
