Hello everyone, I have the following designs for our small bathroom and our even smaller guest WC.
Would you arrange the tiled areas in this way purely based on their layout?
For the bathroom, personally, I think there are too many tiles on the walls. Would it be possible to tile only the shower area and the wall behind the toilet, and simply plaster the rest, including the area behind the washbasin?

I also like the bathroom. However, I’m concerned that black fittings have already had their moment in the spotlight and might quickly start to look like “yeah, that was stylish, but that was 10 years ago.” That’s not a problem per se, but I wouldn’t choose black as a “showstopper.”
Nice chrome-colored fittings don’t interfere. You can see that even in very old bathrooms: the tiles are quite adventurous, but the fittings hardly bother at all.

The layout of the toilet is not ideal for maximizing space, but you probably already know that and can live with the “long and narrow” shape, especially since you have planned for two windows. I wouldn’t go for a clean and standard look, but rather boldly introduce color or design elements. Personally, I would emphasize the slender shape by applying a striking wall design that distracts from the length and monotony. Gold, green, mirrors, or black… just be daring. If not in the toilet, then where? There are some fantastic mosaic tiles available these days… and remember: a tiled backsplash (or patterned wallpaper) creates cohesion. Right now, your toilet is visually divided into left and right sides, so there’s no unified look or feel-good atmosphere. We haven’t planned the windows—they’re just existing features 😉 but thanks for the suggestions, we will also consider visualizing something completely different 🙂

Wouldn’t it be possible to tile only the shower and the wall behind the toilet frame, and simply plaster the rest, including the area behind the washbasin? I’m also not a fan of excessive tiling, but from what I see in your case, there isn’t too much.
I would never separate the wall between the toilet and washbasin or tile it only partially. I once saw that during a viewing—it just looked disjointed and unfinished.
In our guest toilet, we have the exact same amount of tiling; I wouldn’t have wanted less. So, I think your plan is really well thought out!

Yes, I’m always in favor of color. I tiled my interior toilet in a detailed, colorful way, going against all the usual "rules." I think it looks great, and I enjoy looking at the colors I like.
I also like the bathroom. I just worry that black fixtures might be past their prime and can quickly look like "yeah, that was trendy 10 years ago." That’s not a big deal, but I wouldn’t count on black as a real "eye-catcher."
Nice chrome-colored fixtures don’t bother anyone. You can even see it in very old bathrooms: the tiles might be adventurous, but the fixtures barely stand out. It’s actually only about the tiles :-) Fixtures and everything else were all supplied by the tile studio – we’re getting everything in chrome and white. What do you think of the black corner trims?
