ᐅ What maximum sofa width would you recommend?

we are currently looking for a sofa

We want a U-shaped sectional sofa and it should be as large as possible.

I have attached the floor plan
Dimensions: Red approx. 355cm (measured from inside edge of tile base), Yellow 175cm (69.3 inches)

We have chosen a sectional sofa that is 352cm (138.6 inches) wide
This will fill the niche almost completely

What are your thoughts on this?

Is the house already built and the rough measurements taken, or is this just the plan? ;-)

All measurements have been taken accurately.

I wouldn’t do it that way. It looks really cramped, and if something falls between the sofa and the wall, you’ll have to move the entire setup just to reach it. I’d leave at least 2 hand-widths of space on both sides.

355cm (approximately 140 inches) was the inside edge of the baseboard tiles.

353cm (approximately 139 inches) was roughly the size of the seating area.

The seating area is positioned relatively high, so it would still be quite accessible from underneath (height of the legs about 15cm (6 inches)).

The appearance can be considered as a point, but I find it hard to imagine how it will look in the end.

Unfortunately, the selection of good seating areas is limited, making it difficult to find a slightly smaller one, for example 345cm (136 inches).

Where exactly were the 353 cm (139 inches) of the sectional sofa measured? Are these actual measurements or some catalog dimensions, where perhaps an armrest might be a bit wider/deeper?
