Hello,

we urgently need to replace a window (130cm x 130cm (51 inches x 51 inches)) in a small room with relatively high humidity. The walls are 30cm (12 inches) lightweight concrete blocks. I am now unsure whether a warm edge spacer would be beneficial or not in this case. Preventing mold growth is the priority, preferably no condensation at all, but if condensation occurs, better on the window than on the wall...

Even if you use a warm edge spacer for the edge seal of the insulating glass unit, the heat transfer will still be relatively high here. The warm edge spacer essentially means using insulation-optimized spacers to preserve the function of the glass unit’s air gap as effectively as possible. Condensation on the window as an indicator for ventilation does not work with "airtight," thermally insulating windows, regardless of their specific construction.
