Hello,
I hope I am posting in the right section.
I have a question: What type of mailbox would you recommend?
A standard mailbox on posts or a mailbox with a parcel box?
What are the advantages and disadvantages of a parcel box like that?
Do you have a parcel box as well, and could you share your experiences?

At first, I thought it wouldn’t be a bad idea.
And the parcel boxes without electronics end up costing hardly more than a regular mailbox.

Or it is delivered to the neighbor.
I am currently not sure if the neighbors are even home during the day to accept deliveries or if they are willing to do so.
So would you rather recommend not having a parcel drop box?

If there are no issues with delivery drivers in your area and packages usually don’t go missing, then there’s not much against having a parcel box (apart from the cost).
I would just advise against expecting the doorbell to still ring. I assume anything that fits inside the box will end up there. If you are not at home during the day on weekdays anyway, the advantages probably outweigh the disadvantages.
Personally, I wouldn’t do it, but that’s because I can usually open the door for the courier, and I have had bad experiences in the past with dishonest delivery drivers.
Even if your delivery drivers are reliable now, and problems arise later, you could always remove the box.

Usually, you get to know your neighbors and can discuss such matters with them. You don’t necessarily need to have everything perfect at the time of moving in. If in doubt, just leave a box with a note saying “Mailbox” and take your time to think it through.

I don't see any disadvantage if delivery personnel use the box without ringing the doorbell. In fact, I think it's a good idea. It makes it easier for the delivery person, and you yourself are not disturbed.
