Hello everyone,
Our combined living, cooking, and dining area is unfortunately not very large (33 m² (355 sq ft)) and probably not ideally laid out either. What we regret most, however, is our short TV wall.

Do you have any ideas on how we could design this? I was thinking of adding a room divider next to the wall, but I’m not sure how or what, since there are also switches for the blinds and power outlets on that wall that I can’t block.
I would really appreciate any suggestions.
Best regards

Hmm, yes, that’s quite inconvenient. Why not relocate the switches somewhere else where they fit better? For example, into the room divider once it’s in place.
May I ask why the room was designed like this? Surely it’s known in advance that a TV and similar items will be placed in the room. The apartment was purchased as is from the developer. When we saw it, we asked the same question. The statement was that a longer wall would make the space feel smaller, which I think is reasonable. However, the wall should still have been built a few centimeters longer. Another point is that it would cast less natural light into the kitchen area. Overall, it’s partly our own fault, but I didn’t want to base the whole project on the short TV wall.Your suggestion crossed my mind as well. But the fact that the already small open-plan living, kitchen, and dining area would visually feel even smaller has so far stopped me.
My goal is really just to improve the appearance a bit, rather than having the TV look bare on the short wall -.-
Perhaps room dividers like these could be useful. They wouldn’t interfere with the switches either.

From the photo, I don’t feel able to give qualified advice. I only have a screenshot on hand at the moment. I had to crop it a bit because otherwise the numbers would be hard to read. Does that help? So far, only the living area has not been planned. There will probably be a small corner sofa/living room set in front of the TV wall (4-seater).
