Hello everyone,

Has anyone here ever used an IVAR combination for a walk-in closet?
I’m trying to furnish the new house on a budget for now, and I find the natural solid wood from IVAR simply timeless and beautiful.
However, I’m not quite sure what to do with the corner. Unfortunately, the IKEA IVAR planner online isn’t very advanced. You can’t install the clothing rods (which are actually available), and the wall width is limited, which is inconvenient.

Modular wooden shelving system with open compartments and lower drawers mounted on the wall.

This is as far as I’ve gotten so far, but we would probably add a fifth unit.
The walk-in closet is about 4m (13 feet) wide and about 2.5m (8 feet) deep.

What I’m mainly unsure about is what to do with the corner. I would like to build around the corner with the combination, but low open shelves would probably be better there, maybe for shoes or similar items.

I’d appreciate any pictures, inspiration, or ideas.
Also happy to hear about other alternatives or systems.
Does anyone know the IVAR planner?

And maybe your existing Pax units without doors could still make it through this possibly last move? That could be the most cost-effective option, especially if you already have some interior fittings for them.

Have you calculated the price for the shown Ivar configuration? Or did the planner do that? What total amount would that be for you?

.. ah, I saw it, you had it displayed on page 1. 557 euros ... maybe it’s worth checking what parts of your Pax cabinets can still be used and what additional components might cost.

We solved it like this... Malm dressers with the Mullig clothes rails mounted above them... we already used this setup in our previous apartment and never regretted it. The walk-in closet there had two windows, and nothing faded significantly or got excessively dusty. In my old apartment (top floor facing south with two large windows), I also had an open system, and the only items that suffered were the faux leather jackets...

I also think that’s a pretty good idea.

I also really like these kinds of solutions. They especially have a strong visual appeal. I might choose Nordli instead of Malm, but that’s a matter of personal taste. Drawers like these with rails on top look very stylish.

The old Pax definitely has to go. I also don’t like the color anymore—it’s black and feels way too heavy nowadays. When I was younger, I had a thing for black furniture. Maybe I’ll move it with the sliding doors down to the basement under the garage and probably have the most stylish storage room ever. XD

😎 ... yes, I would avoid black as well. And you definitely need a closet in the basement sometimes 😉

With Nordli, there is also this matching clothes rail for such combinations ==> 320 cm (126 inches) = 798 euros

White clothes rail with hanging clothes, next to dresser, plant, and mirror in bedroom.

But then you quickly reach the price range of Pax .. 300 cm (118 inches) = 775 euros

Open wardrobe with rail, shelves, drawers; chair with yellow cushion next to it.
and
White Pax wardrobe opened: hanging space with shirts, shelves, and drawers.
