ᐅ Bathroom sink – water always flows toward the back

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my IKEA combination of the Godmorgon base cabinet and the Braviken washbasin. The water always flows towards the wall or collects in the back area where the washbasin meets the tiles. After a few months, I already have mold there. Additionally, water runs down the side of the washbasin. This design seems completely flawed, and I am considering removing it. However, it cost me quite a bit, and I generally like the look of the washbasin. Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem? I have attached a few photos. The washbasin is overall level, but it seems slightly tilted backward on the left side. That doesn’t really make sense since it rests on the base cabinet, which is flush against the wall. It could only be that the wall is not perfectly vertical. Tilting it forward is probably not possible, and attaching anything at the back might also be pointless. Has anyone experienced this problem or can imagine what could be done here?

You have a spirit level. Then there shouldn’t be a question mark at the end of the sentence.

Ikea is not a watchmaker. A few millimeters (inches) unevenness in the wall, a few millimeters (inches) of crooked screws, a few millimeters (inches) of manufacturer’s tolerance, and you get the kind of damage you described.
(I’m surprised that with such a high manufacturer tolerance in ceramics there is still water draining in the sink at all—I vaguely remember a few percent.)

Dismantle, readjust. And if in doubt, get a new base cabinet.

No, they’re not. But water still shouldn’t leak. I just checked the product page. The issue seems to be known. Of course, it’s frustrating. Maybe I can still exchange it. There is another model that apparently is better.

I have two Godmorgon models, one Odensvik and one Rätviken. I haven’t had any issues like yours with either.

That's exactly what I just looked at. Did I see correctly in the photo that it slightly rises on the side and at the back, like it has a slight bulge around it?

If I remove the sink, it is glued to the cabinet with silicone. Can you simply reseal it with silicone afterwards? Silicone doesn’t adhere well to silicone.
