We are currently planning an additional floor on a house with many glass facades and are looking for a modern option for the exterior cladding. We find, for example, Trespa facade panels very appealing. What alternative options to render/plaster are there? Metal cladding? What are your experiences, as well as the pros and cons of different exterior cladding options?

Take a look at fiber cement panels. They come in various types, are low-maintenance, durable, and fire-resistant.

Hello,

would you like to post a picture?

Then people here in the forum can share their opinions with taste :p.

I often see clear facade structures (concrete, glass, etc.) on the ground floor, with, for example, diamond-shaped battens on the upper floor. If it fits visually, that might be an option? Trespa really needs to be well processed to look good; unfortunately, I see many facades where the screws are overtightened (small dents in the facade). Terrible 🙄. Vertical standing seam metal cladding can also look good in some cases (if it matches).

For your consideration, here are all possible options (without any guarantee of completeness) for facade cladding, of course imaginable in all variations like panels, shingles, etc.:

Wood
Metal
Plastic
Fiber cement
Tiles
Plaster/render
Fabric
Brick slips
Glass curtain walls (printed, back-painted, in all colors) are also available!

Alucobond. Not sheet metal.
Consider a ventilated facade only if the budget is flexible.
