Good evening everyone,
we are currently looking for a manufacturer who can build us a nice loft door.
I have already visited several metalworkers in town, but the prices are a bit overwhelming.
The price range was between 2000-4000€ (about 2200-4400 USD).
The concept was always the same.
There are also many suppliers online, but that would be a blind purchase. The price difference is very large.
Has anyone installed a loft or industrial-style door and can recommend a manufacturer?

Unfortunately, I can’t help you as I don’t have any experience. However, I would like to share two things you might not have considered yet.
1. A loft door won’t look the same in a small passageway as it does in all the photos online. It would resemble more of a shower door.
2. Such a door provides much less sound insulation (though naturally still more than having no door at all).
3. What are you missing from the online suppliers? They have plenty of photos. Considering the price difference, I would simply order it and see how it goes.

1. With such a narrow passage, a loft door won’t look like it does in all the photos online. It would look more like a shower door.
2. Such a door provides much less sound insulation (although, of course, better than no door at all).

2. What you say is correct, and we have already given it some thought. That’s why the solution is to use a door with a seal.
3. If we order online, it’s a purchase made blindly regarding whether the quality is sufficient or not.

1. So 88cm (35 inches) still seems quite wide to me.No, that’s not even wide enough for an accessible door. It’s just a standard size.Honestly, I don’t see it as a loft door at all. It looks like an attempt but poorly executed. The rest of the house—at least from what can be seen in the photos—doesn’t fit that style at all. Visually, I consider a loft door attractive and fitting only from at least 125cm (49 inches) with a side panel as an emergency solution, or 160cm (63 inches) and above.

Honestly, I don’t see a loft door here at all. It looks like an attempt, but not successful. The rest of the house—at least from what you can see in the photos—doesn’t fit with it either. To me, a loft door is visually attractive only from at least 125cm (approx. 49 inches) wide with a sidelight as a workaround, or 160cm (approx. 63 inches) wide to look good and suitable. Everyone has their opinion, and that is accepted.
But this was the request of my management, so I have to comply.
Similar dimensions to ours.
I find it nice.
