ᐅ Waterproof wall paint for mold prevention

Hello,

In my bathroom, there is an area on the wall that occasionally gets slightly wet while showering; over time, this is clearly damaging the wall. It is turning yellowish and starting to crumble.

I was thinking of something like Ultrament Wasser Stopp 2in1 (paint and waterproofing in one). Is that effective?

Alternatively, maybe elephant hide coating or marine varnish?

Any other recommendations?

You have nice tiles on the floor, so just extend them 30-40cm (12-16 inches) up the wall and that should solve the problem.
Of course, prepare the surface beforehand (remove old plaster?, renew it, apply two coats of waterproofing, then tile).
You can easily do this yourself ;-)
Maybe you still have some spare tiles, or you can buy some that match and provide a good contrast.

I have now applied Ultrament Waterstop; it seems to be helping already.
Is it possible to apply Elefantenhaut over this Ultrament paint on areas that are subject to heavy wear?

I would rather take a look at tile-free and waterproof systems for bathrooms. We have them in the bathroom area.

I don’t understand your statement; what do you mean by that? My original question was whether you can paint over the above-mentioned paint with Elephant Skin.

Ultrament Wasser Stopp 2in1 is actually not intended for this use. It does work, though. It is more suited for bare concrete or screed.
According to the datasheet, it can also be painted over with a primer. So, it is best to apply the appropriate Ultrament primer first and then paint over it.
