ᐅ The front-facing windows are suboptimal and need to be improved.

Hello,
we have already started construction and the shell is complete. Unfortunately, looking back now, I find the front elevation bothers me. Even during the planning phase, I wasn’t completely convinced, but I was repeatedly told that the house should be designed from the inside out. We have now decided to accept changes costing up to 4,000 EUR to avoid living with this discomfort for a lifetime. Unfortunately, the changes can only be made after the building acceptance. Many things can be done by my husband, who already has a lot of DIY experience. Every time I look at it, I feel like giving up, and I hope you can save the façade with some great ideas.
I’m uploading a few pictures.
Thank you very much in advance

@Tolentino According to information online, this is also exempt from a building permit / planning permission in NRW. My husband once sent an email to the city.
@Winniefred
The birth was 7 months (7 months) ago. And, of course, the older children keep me busy as well. I wish I could block out the house stuff and just enjoy the time with the children.

I would say that the property owner is allowed to tell the site manager what should be done with the shell structure.
If you want to enlarge the rough opening, it should be done now before plastering and insulation are applied.
Bring in the structural engineer and that’s it.
Have the windows already been ordered? Delivery times are currently very long.
The site manager represents the interests of the property owner, not the other way around!
Don’t let yourselves be intimidated or discouraged.

@Malunga we are currently in discussions with the city authorities and the structural engineer. As soon as we have more information, we will also apply more pressure. I doubt it will help, but since they haven’t found a roofer, we are already two months behind schedule. We could have ordered the windows a month ago.

WilderSueden2 Nov 2022 16:11It seems to me that you have bigger problems than just a 2-month delay. In my case, the windows were ordered at the end of April and arrived at the end of July. If you haven’t ordered them yet, it probably won’t happen this year, and likely not in January either. At this point, I would also urgently ask the site manager why the roof needs to be covered before ordering the windows.

I think it really depends. We asked the manufacturer ourselves two weeks ago, and they said that at the moment it takes about 7-8 weeks. With Christmas coming up, time is getting tight for us; we haven’t placed the order yet.
