Wishing you all a sunny day 😎
We are in the final stages before submitting the building permit / planning permission. While we wait for the structural engineer, we are focusing on the bathroom fixtures.
We have been working with the Villeroy & Boch planner and now have three options to choose from.
Which option do you think is best?
Or do you have any suggestions for adjustments?
The laundry chute cannot be moved in the bathroom (it is connected to the attic bathroom above and the utility room below). For option 1, we would prefer to relocate the laundry chute to the hallway (between the bathroom and bedroom walls) because, in my opinion, the position next to the toilet is a disaster 😉
Thank you very much in advance for all your tips and suggestions.
Good luck

I would group the topics: sauna to shower, washbasin to bathtub.
Maybe consider switching the shower with the bathtub in version 2. Does the sauna really need to be that large? Exactly those dimensions? It takes up quite a bit of space... it would be better to plan a niche for it.
What does a ventilation shaft (W-shaft) look like? Just a sealed duct?
I would also probably leave out the window opposite the door...

Okay, opinions really differ here! Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions.
The sauna is already the smaller version at 150x200 cm (59x79 inches). It might just seem very large.
In any case, the sauna will have a full glass front so it doesn’t take away from the room’s sense of space.
In the second layout, we have already swapped the bathtub and shower. However, we weren’t completely happy with the positioning of the bathtub and toilet. We have this setup in our current terraced house, and being head level with the toilet lid isn’t very pleasant. There are nicer options 😉
The laundry chute is masonry, about 30x30 cm (12x12 inches) or 40x40 cm (16x16 inches), running from the attic through the bathroom down to the ground floor. Kind of like a chimney, so to speak. Of course, with a hatch for dropping laundry down.
The advantage of layout two would be the space in front of the washbasin and toilet – these are the most frequently used areas, then the shower.
We didn’t really want a freestanding bathtub. I imagine it’d be quite a hassle to dry everything after kids’ baths 😉 plus, we thought the space would be too tight. Does anyone have an idea how this could maybe be done?
Or does anyone have another idea? We keep moving things around 😉
Good luck

Then option V1 is probably out, since you would also have to clean the shower screen after bathing 😉
Or maybe a fully enclosed walk-in shower...
I’ve rearranged things a bit... You are obviously very limited by the sauna, laundry chute, and oversized shower.
Maybe V2 after all (since the others are less practical), but it would need to be checked if the toilet can be moved a few meters (yards) easily enough—everything needs proper drainage, so you can’t plan long runs for the waste pipe; the toilet should be located above the drain stack.
There are corner saunas too, maybe that could be an option???
