ᐅ Roller shutter without a stopper – what is the technical term?

Hello,

I happened to notice a item in my window quote called a stopper.
After some research, I found out that these are very ugly parts fixed on the outside of the roller shutter, used to detect the end position for the motor. Apparently, the motor recognizes it has fully closed by the increased torque.

I definitely don’t want these ugly parts on my roller shutter. However, there seem to be other solutions without stoppers.
What should I include in a request for quotation to make it clear to the supplier? Something like “electronic end position detection”?

Then it seems that without stoppers is more of the standard and does not need to be specifically mentioned.
Having stoppers is standard – it is also the most cost-effective option. Anything else is a special request. Perhaps some suppliers offer roller shutters without stoppers, but I don’t really see that happening.

How often do you actually go into the house when the roller shutters are down and take a look at them?

For me, never, so I really don't care how they look :p
But apparently, some people like to express their so-called perfectionism...

I go into the house quite often, and if you can see those stop buffers when the roller shutter is raised, it does bother me, yes.

Then accept the extra cost and order without the stops, or just unscrew them 🙄

That is exactly what he/she wants and is asking if the "without stopper" option has a specific name so they can ask for it accordingly.

Door stops. This is the technical term – although the statement "I want things without stops" is also easily understood.

However, this is only possible with the most expensive motor variant.
