Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

I would actually build again right away.

I think that’s a statement you rarely hear 🙂
Nice to read something like that for a change.

Nice to read it now and then.

You could also interpret it as dissatisfaction if such a sentence is said while designing the rooms 😉
@Pinkiponk Where is the fake fire displayed? Have you completely given up having a TV in the living room now?

Dissatisfaction? Theoretically possible, but in this case: Nope!
The first part of the sentence is:
" building the house was a lot of funt "

That was my first thought as well,
we are so happy with our house, we’re just enjoying it for now.
🙂

We really like the house and are happy here, but as mentioned, it would be “even better” with more windows and glass doors. ;-) Also, next time we would give the architect more freedom … we just thought we could handle it ourselves. ;-)

The TV (50 inches) is behind the picture, and I simply bought a canvas print that I’ve liked for a long time and now hang it in front whenever the TV is off. Those black screens really bother me. They affect my well-being significantly, and I feel like I’m being “drawn into” those black voids. I don’t know how other people emotionally deal with these dominant black screens, often placed in a central location—perhaps it’s just familiarity. People who like shades of gray and anthracite might be less bothered. It’s basically a black picture right in the middle of the room.

"giving the architect more freedom to operate"
but that only makes sense once they have proven themselves.

I have made some decisions myself that might have been better handled differently, but in my view, I prevented quite a few mistakes...

... as for the black TV holes:
I love them because there is complete stillness as long as it is black – and the color somehow expresses that very clearly for me...
