Very nice!
We didn’t build, but bought the house, yet I still want to show it because we’re just so happy to have such a beautiful home after all the ups and downs. Here’s one photo of the garden side and another showing the view in the opposite direction. So cute! I think your house looks quite special, partly because of the unusually high gable. And the view is great too. Looks like it could be near us (southwest Palatinate?).Yaso2.0 schrieb:
Our garden room / conservatory is finished, and I can announce that our outdoor landscaping is now complete 😀 except for the last few flowers/plants..Neat, tasteful, and so nicely tidy. 🙂kati1337 schrieb:
Pretty, tasteful, and so neatly organized. 🙂 Thanks 🙂 we really like it too! We also got a kitchen stove, which will be installed in the next few days and already adds a very cozy touch.
And it’s only so tidy because we don’t have a toddler. Our daughter is almost 12, so the whole toy issue is completely off the table 😀
Our tiler started working last Wednesday in the main bathroom upstairs.
He first applied waterproofing, then our bathtub was installed into the nice pre-wall frame (of course, it didn’t fit perfectly 😉). But everything could be adjusted.
On Friday and Tuesday, he installed the large wall tiles. Unfortunately, we underestimated the waste, so he had to wait for three last tiles, which he installed on Wednesday.
The walls:

Wednesday was shower day, my absolute highlight. Our tiler wouldn’t describe it like that, though, because he first misunderstood “herringbone” — poor guy. But as you can see, it’s actually fish scale tiles. It was his first time working with these tiles, but a true professional can handle it. He swore quietly and a lot, but it looks fantastic! The tiles vary not only in color but apparently also in size and thickness... cough... But don’t worry, he charged us by the hour as agreed beforehand, so no profit escapes him here. He actually took longer than he had planned with the (misunderstood) herringbone pattern.

Then the floor tiles were installed as well.
I’m so happy with the bathroom.

On Monday, we’re having the toilet installed, so the portable toilet can go away. Then we’ll have the bathtub faucet installed and can start washing our hands and even showering. Next Friday we’re getting internet, and on 01.11, the kitchen.
Things are moving forward.
For the toilet, we’re building a wooden frame to put over it while finishing the ceiling and walls so we don’t accidentally damage it 😀. Living on the edge! Wherever there is drywall now, there will be wood paneling later.
We had originally planned to tile the pre-wall in the guest toilet ourselves, but then we decided to let him do it as well. Cutting the openings for the toilet would take us forever, but he’s better and faster at it. And his hourly rate is absolutely fair...
The downstairs bathroom will be quite unusual as well. We’re having glitter added to the grout. His face was priceless... “I’ve never done that before.” Just like the fish scale tiles 😀.
I’m excited to see how it looks when we’re back tomorrow evening.

I’m curious to see how it looks when we return tomorrow evening. It really looks fantastic! The fish scale pattern is great.
