Pitiglianio6 Oct 2022 12:50My general contractor is changing the window manufacturer from Kömmerling to Aluplast due to delivery issues.
In my case, instead of the originally planned Kömmerling 88MD windows, I am now supposed to receive the Aluplast Ideal 8000 windows.
According to the general contractor, there will be little to no difference in price, quality, or U-values.
From my online research, I have not found any significant differences in the specifications of the two window models.
Maybe someone here can offer advice or share their experience regarding this topic?

According to online research, the Ideal 8000 also has this third seal as a middle seal.
As a third seal in the window frame, the continuous central rib not only improves thermal insulation values but also prevents the sash from being easily pried open.

Exactly, the Ideal 8000 also has a central seal, providing three levels of sealing.
What I also consider positive is that I had trouble finding someone willing or able to manufacture my relatively tall windows (2.5 meters (8 feet 2 inches)) in plastic. Two window manufacturers independently recommended this frame profile for that purpose. It seems to be among the more "stable" options.
