ᐅ Gas Prices – Where Is Gas Still Affordable?

Good morning,

I just received a steep price increase from my energy provider enercity, raising the cost to 15 cents per kWh starting in August. That’s really tough, and I think prices will rise even further.

It’s a strange feeling to be thrown back so quickly into an energy supply situation where you have to figure out how to keep the house warm. It seems to me that the government has given up on the goal of enabling everyone to adequately cover at least their basic needs.

Goodbye central supply structures; now the winner is whoever has solar panels and a heat pump in their new build, while the others are left out.

Welcome back, coal heating 😕

Frustrated regards,

Yep, I’ve often seen that in the bathtub or at the swimming pool

Edit: Deleted, as it was probably just a joke and doesn’t always come across clearly in text form.

So, the gas leaks currently being reported in the press were not caused by material fatigue or similar issues but by deliberate human interference. The keyword is "sabotage." Now it’s just a matter of figuring out who did it (three guesses allowed 😉 )

In my daily newspaper, the party that benefits the most from this, among the three (possible?) ones, was not mentioned. ;-)

Left-leaning Green voters are surely aware that since last week, around 4,000 US soldiers have been stationed on and around the island of Bornholm.
What a coincidence. It must have been a coincidence as well that since last Friday, the GPS systems have stopped working—at least the US and European satellites. Some had to be reprogrammed to use Indian satellites.

Surely just a conspiracy theory.

Also, the euro is currently losing significant value, now at 0.9551 against the dollar. That is more than a 5 percent loss in less than a month.

Well, the goal has been achieved, and we are now completely cut off from Russian energy supplies. At least from January 2023, the oil pipelines on the German side will also be shut off. The last straw will be broken.

On top of that, there is uncontrolled and deliberately encouraged immigration into our social systems, coinciding with the collapse of our economy.
For example, BASF is threatening to shut down its plants in Germany, and so on.

I don’t know if all of this is very wise.

It’s not new that GPS does not function (properly) for civilian users during times of crisis, as the satellites are “shifted” as needed to provide, for example, higher resolution/accuracy for specific military purposes.

Regarding the other nonsense, I’ll say nothing except that I am certainly capable of suspecting many things about the Americans, and the USA has NOT been handed democracy on a silver platter (neither have we!).

And anyone who read my text carefully and without strong prejudice could not have found any specific indication of whom I suspect of sabotaging the pipelines. (I just reread the text myself. And no, it does not say whom I suspect, really it doesn’t.)

Let’s not overdramatize.
The soldiers were not ON Bornholm. Bornholm is a sensitive issue because the island was actually occupied by the Soviets at the end of World War II and only under the condition that no other troops would be stationed there did the USSR withdraw. As far as I know, the plans to deploy US military forces there have not been carried out. If you have found other reports, feel free to share them.

What is correct is that until a few days ago, a NATO exercise led by the US with the USS Kearsarge and escort ships was conducted in this area. Of course, all these ships move without automatic identification systems active and therefore cannot be tracked.
By the way, the large US naval group left the Baltic Sea already last Thursday, 09/22/22. That would have been too obvious otherwise.
It is very hard to imagine that the Russians would go there right now to sabotage the pipelines where NATO ships are swarming.

Thousands of US Soldiers on Three Ships
A total of 4,000 US soldiers, helicopter pilots, marines, doctors, and strategists are heading east. On Wednesday morning around 6 a.m., the group passed the Danish island of Bornholm; shortly after, the Americans switched off their automatic ship identification systems (AIS) and can no longer be detected.

"Controlled Escalation"
“A message,” is how Sebastian Bruns describes the behavior of the Americans, as well as a “controlled escalation.” Sebastian Bruns is an expert on naval strategies and maritime forces at the Kiel Institute for Security Policy (ISPK). He sees it as a double message: “On one hand, to Sweden and Finland as well as the Baltic states, signaling that the US will protect them from Russian threats.” On the other hand, it is a message directed at Russia itself.

This is a report from Norddeutscher Rundfunk, a well-known and certainly respected opinion leader media outlet.

Why would the Russians blow up their own pipeline in the presence of strong NATO troop forces in the immediate vicinity of the attacks? But let’s just wait to see Russia’s response. I cannot imagine there will be no consequences.

But maybe it was Luisa Neubauer after all. She had already wanted to blow up the pipeline back in June.
The prominent climate activist Luisa Neubauer (26) has caused a stir with a provocative statement: “We are planning to blow up a pipeline.”

I see this as an attack on Germany’s energy security and infrastructure. Unfortunately, neither politicians nor the German justice system have responded to this. And of course, the question must be asked: How well protected is the rest of our infrastructure?
Are we protecting ourselves against further sabotage attempts, and could the USA possibly be our enemy?
