As the title suggests, what's the situation like for you? Is there still a lot of building going on, or has it slowed down?

Are entire fields being developed, or just scattered plots?

And so on. Please share your observations and experiences. My impression is that the forum has become somewhat quieter.

We visited an acquaintance in February in Locarno. The building was fairly new, the spring weather was nice but cool, and the windows were open. There was no thermostat present either.

This has likely changed by now.

We have a friend who works as a landscaping contractor. He said yesterday that business is slowing down. He probably won't have to turn down any work next year.

I hear the same from the Galas: it’s getting thinner and in half a year it will be very thin, they say. This concerns the Stuttgart metropolitan area.

Here is some information from my brother-in-law, who works as a civil engineer at a small construction company (region: southern Bavaria). They specialize in single-family homes in the high-end market segment. I would say that the top 10% build with them.

Their order books for private projects are full through 2023, and demand is still "high." Only in commercial construction has demand started to decline.

It is quite telling that you rarely see the homeowner on the construction site. I almost always only meet the tradespeople.
And if the front door is open, you can just walk right into the house. As I said, wearing work clothes makes you blend in completely. And if anyone asks, you just say you’re the site manager. That always works!

That can sometimes end with a shovel to the head, though. And as they say, “light taps on the back of the head improve thinking ability,” which might actually be a useful therapy for you?
