Hello everyone,
perhaps some of you already have practical experience with electric cars and charging stations. We are about to start the wiring for our new double garage. Attached is a sketch:

Next to the distribution board, there will also be a 16A or 32A outlet. Do you think the number of outlets might be too many? And the main question:
1. Where would you generally place wallboxes? Closer to the garage entrance or inside the garage?
2. For a double garage, would you rather go for two wallboxes?

If your bays are 1m wide, both cars won’t fit in the garage - right? When planning, I based it on this overviewI thought that if two cars fit in a width of 5m (external dimensions), then I would make my garage 6m wide and have some extra space. Now we have an internal width of about 5.5m (18 feet). It’s a bit tight, but two cars do fit inside.

What are the two separated areas supposed to be used for?The larger separated area is mainly intended for garden equipment, and the smaller one for winter tires, etc. Possibly also for a bicycle. Unfortunately, I can’t change the shell structure anymore; otherwise, I would definitely have made it 0.5m (20 inches) wider. The length is fine, though—I might extend it by 0.5m (20 inches) here as well.W

My wife also raises the point: What if the car is parked outside in front of the double garage? Then it might be better not to have one wallbox inside and one outside.
I would argue that you could still pull the cable out from inside and leave the garage door open by a few millimeters (if this works with the Hörmann Supramatik E4). What prevents someone from parking inside the garage? With electric garage doors nowadays, that’s really no hassle at all.

What prevents someone from driving into the garage? With electric garage doors nowadays, it’s really not an effort anymore I’m just repeating what my wife said. Maybe it’s too “stressful” to drive into a “tight” garage. I would install the wall boxes like this.
I can still consider today whether I need additional ventilation units for myself:
- One fan for supply and exhaust ventilation (e.g. Zehnder ComfoSpot 50)
- Two fans: one for supply air and another for exhaust air (e.g. Zehnder ComfoSpot Twin40)
- The ComfoSpot 70 would probably be oversized (~200€ extra cost)
