lillyfee095 Mar 2022 13:31Hello,
I need a professional outdoor video surveillance system for my private property.
There seems to be a lot of low-quality products on many sites, and Amazon reviews say it all. Could someone recommend a reliable guide page for security cameras that actually work? Something similar to what is used at airports, in public transport, or supermarkets.
Regards, Lilly

Regards, Lilly You might want to check out AXIS or Mobotix.
But you also need someone to install it professionally! So don’t just look for the hardware, but find a company that specializes in video surveillance. Usually, their target customers are commercial clients. Mobotix in particular is very specialized in operation (I’m not a fan), but Axis cameras also have so many options that a layperson hardly wants (or can) configure them. Both Axis and Mobotix are definitely top brands, but they also come with a price. Cameras used at airports, train stations, etc., often cost between 5,000 and 20,000 (no joke) per unit! In addition, a reliable setup requires certain conditions to be met (cabling, not wireless, tamper contacts, etc.). These must be fulfilled first (and need to be possible).
Axis and Mobotix, as already suggested. But please have it professionally planned.
Per camera costs are in the four- to five-digit range. Plus local and external processing.
Maybe you could share more about your requirements and reasons.
Cameras alone do not constitute a security or surveillance system.

What are your requirements?
What do you want to use the cameras for, and why?
Until then, it’s not possible to say whether the cameras are suitable for that purpose.
For example, I installed two cameras from Reolink for 60€ each.
They are completely sufficient for my needs. Whether they would be enough for you is something only you can decide.
