Hello everyone!
On our ground floor, we will have only three interior doors from the hallway to the other rooms; otherwise, the layout is quite open. Now we are wondering if two of these three doors are actually necessary. Of course, we need the door to the bathroom, but what about the doors to the kitchen and the living room – are they really needed, or could these openings just remain open?
What do you think? Are doors needed here for visual, thermal, or any other reasons?
Thanks in advance!

Then you should probably consider placing the staircase in the living room instead, because there should be the least amount of noise coming from the front door 😉I agree, the staircase would not work there for me either. However, I wasn’t only referring to the “absolute” noise level (depending on the layout of the doors upstairs and the overall construction, you can still achieve a lot in terms of soundproofing). I was more talking about the general disturbance that an entry/exit area can cause (door opening, closing, “oh, I forgot something,” opening again, jingling keys, etc.); as I said, it depends on the daily routine.M

Did I miss something? What happened to the nice ground floor layout from here

Basement staircase next to the sofa... 🙁
The kitchen door is not needed in the house. I'm also laughing a lot about the living room right now. Then the opening to the hallway and the front door won’t bother either. 😀

Wasn't the staircase supposed to be a showpiece? But the storage room definitely needs a door! Apparently, there isn’t one planned there.

A sliding door is great for crawling babies and toddlers. It keeps them safely in the room and away from all the shoes and dirt in the entrance area.
And for coziness, you can close it sometimes. There are also some very stylish glass panels available, which add a nice visual touch.
