ᐅ Is it acceptable to fill the trench for the electrical and fresh water pipes with screed sand?

Lukas_NHello everyone,
The screed installer left some sand unused.
Since I need to backfill two excavations with sand anyway,
one from the fresh water pipe
and the other from the electrical/telecommunication cable.
It is generally known that pipes and cables should be sand-bedded whenever possible.
Now the question:
Is this sand suitable for backfilling excavations?
Frost resistance? Etc.?
Regards,
Lukas

Frost resistance? etc.? This is regulated somewhere in DIN 1610 and depends on the pipe size (pipe diameter). I believe (but am not sure) that screed sand is suitable for this. It should have a grain size of 0/8. As long as there are no components in the sand that could damage the pipes, I would use this sand for that purpose.
